Riding lessons in our big arena are also available. Activities on the ranch include hiking, biking, barbecues, cowboy breakfasts, campfires, horseshoe pitching and ping pong. The Running-R Ranch is a guest ranch with its focus on horseback riding. Soak up the unspoiled beauty of the ranch and the adjoining 5,500 acre Hill Country State Natural Area where we do most of our riding. Our friendly cowboys will be glad to accompany you on rides you won't forget and tell you something about the abundant wildlife and plants. Learn from experienced wranglers about ranching, cattle, horses, or ride in our large arena where we offer riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders.
About 40 horses are waiting for their riders. Of course we can match up each rider with a horse that is well suited to his needs, no matter if a beginner or advanced rider. And in case you want to improve your Western Riding Style you can take lessons also.
Relax in our Round-up room, where you can meet other guests, play pool, watch TV or just sit on the beautiful porch and enjoy your stay under western skies. Go riding, hiking, fossil hunting, play ping-pong, horseshoe pitching or just have fun in our swimming pool.
There are many fun and interesting places to visit within reasonable driving distance of Bandera. Take the time to visit the famous Alamo, Fiesta Texas (music theme park), Sea World, Schlitterbahn, caverns, rodeos and much, much more. Or just take it easy and go tubing or fishing at one of the nearby rivers and lakes.
