Description
Centralia Antique Fest, July 22 – 23: 10am – 5pm. In historic downtown Centralia. A 1910 streetscape is the backdrop for a weekend of activities celebrating Centralia’s history and culture. Merchants will keep their shops open till 8 pm on Saturday; the downtown merchants create an atmosphere to enthuse antique collectors or anyone who enjoys the nostalgia of yesteryear. Workshops and demonstrations will be held by experts on how to clean porcelain, purchasing an antique clock or sharing secrets of decoupage. Cobblestone streets lined with vintage automobiles, motorcycles, a trolley and a tractor or two help set the scene round out the fun. Music and photo opportunities abound. An appraisal faire ($5 per item), antique vendors and farmers market in “antique alley” will add to the festivities. Enjoy a “Taste of Centralia” at local eateries, a local history “walking tour” or free movies at the Olympic Club Historic Theatre. On Sunday, the Silent Auction comes to an end at 3pm with prizes and awards. On Saturday and Sunday, Destination Centralia is hosting a flea market on Main and Locust.
