Description
For forty years Peter Etril Snyder has been painting scenes from the Region of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Over the decades he has captured Mennonite and Amish life, recording the changes to their farming, social, and cultural practices. As one of the few persons who specialize in painting horses, Peter has documented the seasonal activities of the draft and carriage horses in Mennonite country.
Within Canada, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, Peter has painted its diversity—fishing, forestry, mining, agriculture, transportation, parks, historical sites, urban life. From his travels in many countries around the world, he presents his personal view of the people and their environment. Scenes from Alaska to Florida, England and Ireland, Bermuda and Europe comprise a significant part of Peter’s body of work.
